Diva & The Dixies
A Trio, born on a lanai in Hawaii. They found a special chemistry and sound in that beautiful sunset moment which inspired the Sunset Song, written by Nancy Renee. Dixie Lou is the 2nd soprano and Nancy’s sister. The alto is Dixie Jo their adopted soul sister. Yes they really are both named DIXIE!
The trio sings mostly “oldies but goodies”, some Andrew Sisters, some McGuire Sisters, along with a little country, a little gospel, and some originals by DIVA and the DIXIES. Dixie Lu Sims is a very talented lyricist who wrote “Red Wine Makes Our Pants Fall Down” along with other originals on our CD Buried in Blondes. The vocal arrangements are done by Nancy Emmerich who has her master’s degree in music from the Juilliard School in New York.
Diva & The Dixies performed the National Anthem for the Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose Garden. The group has also performed at Tony Starlight’s Supper Club in Portland, Sokol Blosser Winery in Dundee, The Oregon Wine & Food Festival in Salem, and Brown Bag Concerts in McMinnville.
